Label with failed ink

Case Study:
Local Company Fails Test

The graphics on compliance labels must be indelible, so ink composition is critical. Underwriter’s Laboratories, for example, confirms indelibility by testing printed parts with a series of chemicals, including Oil of Olay hand cream.

In one established facility, UL visited and ran a few tests on labels printed in-house. When the ink smeared (see above), the facility was shut down until new ink could be purchased, new labels printed, and new certification tests passed.

TAC Graphics would have ensured that the correct ink was specified before the labels were printed.
